Simantov are in Barcelona again and we can not tell you how thrilled we are to be here making matches, building our dating advice project to give Jewish singles the best chance to find love and visiting the old town Synagogue. We have been liaising with a small but vibrant Jewish community and enjoying a table full of tapas – what else would we be doing? Barcelona has a well-established and thriving Jewish community and you can find out so much more about them here or by following them on Facebook here.

There’s no other city quite like Barcelona – the people, the food, the culture, the sea, the hills, parks and architecture all combined to make it a uniquely inspiring and loveable place to live or just to visit for a long-weekend.

Now, imagine yourself enjoying all of the things we described above with your special someone you might want to take a look at some of our top picks for finding love in brilliant Barcelona.

Maccabi Kosher Restaurant
Located on the famous Las Ramblas, this kosher restaurant is a convenient place to meet a date or friends for a delicious meal. With a fine selection of fresh fish, meats and salads, satisfaction is guaranteed. Of course if you’re looking to meet that special person, the Maccabi Kosher Restaurant is a cool venue for socialising and meeting other Jews from the local community.

Take a Tour of Jewish Barcelona
There is plenty of Jewish history to explore in Barcelona including the ancient Call (Jewish Quarter), historic synagogues and cemetery. Not all the tours on offer have a historic theme though. For example, there’s one focused firmly on the modern day. You’ll be shown where to go for the annual Jewish Film festival, where you can participate in cooking classes and listen to live music.

Call Barcelona
Another place we’d recommend you visit is the Call Barcelona store on Sant Honorat. It’s a Jewish book and wine store, so if you have a date coming up, you can pick up a nice bottle here. The bookshop attracts Jews of all ages and with varied interests, so this is a place you could meet a kindred spirit, or find out more about local Jewish events and activities taking place.

Plaça Reial
When you want to do some people watching (and there are many beautiful men and women around in Barcelona), we’d recommend going to Plaça Reial. There are lots of gorgeous little cafes dotted around and the fountain acts as a focal point and great meeting place. Many people pass through here every day and night, so it’s a lively place to socialise or arrange to meet someone at the beginning of a date.

Barcelona has an infectious atmosphere. And if you find true love here, you’ll never want to leave.
